Disciples III - Screens @ Worthplaying Worthplaying has kicked up some hopefully new screens from Akella's Disciples III. Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Gaming in the Russian Cosmos This is stretching our mandate a long way but Russian games have some profile in this genre and King's Bounty gets a brief mention or two. Gaming in the Russian Cosmos Part 1 is an updated piece at Rock, Paper, Shotgun (the original version goes all the way back to May 2008) with Jim Rossignol relating his experiences from a trip to the KRI gaming event.... Fable 2 - Review @Fragland Fragland has posted a positive review for Lionhead Studios' so far XBox-only title, Fable II, giving it a score of 92/100: The world is ready for your rule, and it is a beautiful, interesting world. The setting looks fantastic, both on technical and artistic level, and you really feel like being in a fairy tale in which your play the main part.... Eschalon: Book II - Updated Feature List Thomas Riegsecker from Basilisk let us know he has posted an updated feature list for Eschalon: Book II as a sort of interim development update. The list of improvements is quite long, so here's just the gameplay section: GAME PLAY* 7 new spells; several existing spells have been altered/upgraded.... Space Rangers 2 - Arthur Stone and the Rusty Nail If you haven't played Space Rangers 2, this After Action Report / blog at roBurky illustrates the game's capacity for creative approaches. Introducing Arthur Stone: I’ve been playing a lot of Space Rangers 2 lately. I first played it after reading Kieron Gillen’s Eurogamer review three years ago.... Kivi's Underworld - Review @ JIG Indie site Jay is Games takes a look at Soldak's casual hack'n'slash, Kivi's Underworld in this review. The article is very positive and here's the intro: Kivi's Underworld, a new hack-n-slash action-RPG, is the second installment of the Depths of Peril series by Soldak Entertainment.... Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods - Review @ 1UP 1Up joins the club with a harsh review of JoWood's Gothic 3:Forsaken Gods, giving it a score of D- with the caveat that "the only reason this didn't get an F is the original music..." Risen - Various Interviews @ World of Risen The World of Risen has posted some English translations of various interviews with Piranha Bytes staff members over the holiday period, some of which cover older material. RPGWatch - 2008 Game of the Year closed The Game of the Year contests are now closed, we are processing the results and will get back to you in the next days with the results. As far as prizes are concerned: RPGWatch puts forward some of the games that fell on their doorsteps and remained to be unopened.... Hinterland - Review @ rpg codex RPG codex kicks up a scoreless review for Tilted Mills' hybrid strategy title Hinterland, with a mixed verdict: Hinterland is a game that tries to to something different by combining Diabloesque hack-and-slay gameplay with base-building and town management.... Geneforge 5 - Review @ Macworld Macworld has a review of Geneforge for the Mac, although the reviewer clearly approaches the article from the mainstream as an inexperienced RPG player. There are some minor factual errors, the game is compared to Diablo because they both have classes and loot and the graphics and complexity are criticised.... Voodoo Extreme - PC Games of the Year Voodoo Extreme posts their 2008 PC Game Awards here, with Fallout 3 acing both RPG of the Year and GOTY, Mass Effect Best Console Port and King's Bounty:The Legend capturing Strategy Game of the Year.
